Snowy Egrets are a common sight at Natural Bridges State Beach. Early morning and late in the day, you can observe many Snowy Egrets searching for a dinner of sand crabs along the beach.
This pair of male and female Great Horned Owls greeted each other after landing on a branch. This was just past sunset, and a little light left remained in the sky. Typically, this pair of owls would have left their day hiding place earlier, but a number of crows in the area forced the owls to stay hidden longer to avoid a confrontation with the crows.
The Monarch caterpillar creates a most beautiful chrysalis before turning into the familiar orange and black butterfly. This chrysalis hangs from the caterpillar's food source, milkweed.
