Allen's Hummignbirds are fun to watch as they zip around the UC Santa Cruz Arboretum. With all that flying around, they need to rest every now and then, and they have a favorite perch. For this photograph, I was able to captue the beauriful colors of the bird with a flash, highlighting the colorful feathers while the background goes black.
